Conquering My Fear

The challenge of the week at Sketches By Tamara (http://sketchesbytamara/blogspot.com/) is a journaling challenge.  We were to "journal about something in your life that you have overcome. It can be something very personal and of great importance or something that was a big moment or change in your life. Or it can be something that is more light hearted, maybe not a huge ordeal in your life but still a situation or something that you had to overcome and make it through to get to where you wanted to be or to accomplish what you wanted to accomplish."

Okay, my take was a little light-hearted NOW, but at the time I was really having problems.  When I first bought my bike, I was so excited to go out riding.  I wanted to be outside now, now, now!   I had been spinning inside, so it didn't occur to me how hard it would be to get used to clipless pedals.  I took my first dive to the ground out at the REI parking lot.  Ouch!   So now I was scared to ride.  But I wanted to ride.  Finally, with the advice of my good high-school friend, Mary, I got a set of Frog Speedplay pedals and the rest is history (and fear has been overcome!).   Here is my entry.

I'm a little sad that my title didn't show up well in the photo.  I used the little Making Memories letters on the top of the upper photo and top/side of lower photo "Conquering My Fear of the Clipless Pedals".   Paper and cardstock is CTMH, chipboard swirl is Plain Janes (had for eons) which I inked with chocolate ink.  Flowers are Prima.  Button is Target Dollar Spot.  Stamp is Elsie F.  Ink by CTMH.  Clips are Making Memories and sparkles are Dew Drops.

Go check out Sketches By Tamara to see what the rest of the design team did with this challenge.
