Updated CTMH For Sale List

I'm selling off some of my CTMH inventory and have updated my list. If you see anything you want, email me. Prices are marked. Postage is extra but if you live in town, you can feel free to pick it up at my home and save the money. Cash is requested for people picking it up on the spot. If you are not local (or tell me what you want in advance), you can pay via paypal personal/gift (so no fee is charged). Most of what is left will be at my garage sale at the end of the month.

Garage Sale, Saturday, April 30th

Several question came up yesterday so I thought I'd post them in case others had the same questions.

1.  This is a garage sale between about six of us so cash only please (and bring small bills, especially the early arrivals).
2.  Start time is officially 8am.  I don't mind a little earlier but I will not be setting tables up and putting things out until daybreak.    So try not to come prior to 7:30ish.
3.  At this point, I cannot do early sales.   For one thing, the stuff from the other five people won't be here.  However, if you want one of the CTMH items that I posted last week on the blog, you can email me about those.  I will presell those but I do need confirmed sales paid prior to the garage sale.
4.  Feel free to email me for my address - I didn't want to put it up on this blog.

Scrapbook/Stamping Garage Sale This Saturday (4/30) in NW Houston, Texas

For all of you local people, I'm having my scrapbook/stamping garage sale this weekend.    A number of friends are participating, including a former CTMH rep, a SU rep and two ladies on design teams.   There will be tons of stuff and lots of good deals to be had!     Email me if you need directions.

My First Mug Rug

MUG RUGS!!!    You know how we as scrappers started challenging ourselves years back to make a few cards from the scraps after we had completed a layout?   Well, I have discovered "mug rugs"!   Tiny little works of art made from fabric scraps.  I have challenged myself to make a few Mug Rugs after each quilt, but I'm not waiting until I finish a quilt before I make another one!   This is my first mug rug!

I am doing a Block of the Month challenge over at Little Miss Shabby's Blog.  I actually started when they were two months into it so I have some catching up to do.  So I sewed up all my blocks using this fantastic jelly roll that I picked up at HL.   Then I was reading about a technique of sewing crazy strips on freezer paper on a blog... I didn't have freezer paper so I used waxed paper... (I bought some freezer paper shortly thereafter!).   I wanted to make a mug rug and I had a special friend that helped me out recently and has been posting some fantastic photoshop tutorials on my online PAWS group.   So, my first mug rug  went to Jodie.   (Jodie is a great photographer and does awesome photoshop tutorials!)  

I need to get better at the corners -- or switch to circle mug rugs!    Likewise, I need to get better at quilting so my fabric points match up.    This weekend, I'm going to embroider the first three Birdie blocks. I'm also going to finish the binding on my quilt that I made from my Beginning Quilt class.   So more quilt photos are coming...

Scrap card using Mojo 177

I up early today and made a couple of cards using scraps of paper used in a layout that I did last week (it's posted over at the littlepaperstudio blog).   This card is based on the Mojo 177 card sketch.   Here is the sketch:

Challenge Yourself!

I decide that I needed to challenge myself to make some cards.  I have been admiring the Mojo Monday sketches for pretty close to a year, but I don't think I've ever actually made a card with one of the sketches.  So here's goes.   First the sketch:

Now, just so you know I have other dogs than that "damn" dog, here is a layout of my middle fur baby.  I took this photo when I was practicing with lighting.  This dog is extremely hard to get a decent photo of where he doesn't look like a black blob.  Especially since he likes to lay under the coffee table. So picture me on the floor with the lamp without the shade (b/c I don't own fancy photo lighting).  He kept trying to crawl to me which made the lighting harsh and him too close/out of focus.  I waited long enough and he finally got bored with me.   Result - great photo!
